Cardinals Series

Well, it has been a week since the Cardinals were in town and I'm just now getting to writing this blogpost! My sister and her husband were in town for an awesome seven day trip and we kept busy the whole time.

The Cardinals and Padres split the last two games of their three game series. Tuesday, we got some free baseball as the game lasted through the 11th until Daniel Descalso singled in Craig who had walked to lead off the inning.

Rookie catcher Tony Cruz gets his first major league hit. He went 3-for-5 on the night with two singles and a double.

Wednesday was an early game with a 3:30pm starting time. Katie and Joe's flight landed at 2pm so we hustled to get to the ballpark in time. Both Dave and Joe tried the half-pound dog from Randy Jones BBQ before the first pitch and it received positive reviews. No more Friar Franks from Wienerschnitzels!

There were again a bunch of Cardinals fans in our section. Most were just good baseball fans. We did have one lady who was over served and very friendly. Joe and her became quick buddies.

Unfortunately, Katie and Joe did not bring any luck to the Cardinals and they were unable to complete the sweep. It was actually really good to see Padres starter Mat Latos pitch eight solid innings, giving up only one run.

We are looking forward to Padres 11-game homestand starting tonight against the Astros.
