Since the MLB All Star game was so close to home this year and Laura had never been to a midsummers classic, we decided to attend this year. We flew in to Phoenix on Monday night and were greeted by 100+ degree desert heat. Our plan was to head downtown around noon on Tuesday, attend Fan Fest and then get in to the game early to watch some BP before the main event. On the way to the convention center we stopped by Jack in the Box and grabbed some free tacos (thanks Padres!). Fan Fest was held in the Phoenix Convention Center, just a short walk from Chase Field. I didn't know much about Fan Fest other than a bunch of Diamondbacks "Legends" were signing autographs (e.g. Mark Grace, Jay Bell, etc...). Since I am not much of an autograph guy, my expectations of Fan Fest were minimal. I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of activities available.
